The flag of Greenland is made up of two stripes and a circle using red and white colours. It is also known as Erfalasorput, which means "our flag" and Aappalaartoq, meaning "the red".
Thue Christiansen, the flag's designer, said this about the meaning of the flag - "the large white part in the flag symbolises the ice cap and our fjords are represented by the red part in the circle. The white part of the circle symbolizes the ice bergs and the pack ice, and the large red part in the flag represents the ocean".
Today Greenlanders display both the Erfalasorput and the Dannebrog (Danish flag), often side-by-side. Many citizens do so on days such as June 21st, to celebrate the longest day.
From only £31.05 per flag, these digitally printed all nation flags are ideal for small quantities.
