The flag of the Falkland Islands features the Union Jack on a blue ensign, with the coat of arms to the right. It remains an overseas territory of Britain.
The ship in the coat of arms is supposed to be the "Desire" - the ship that discovered the islands in 1592. The ram is there in reference to the main livestock raised in the Falkland Islands.
The flag plays a large part on Liberation Day on June 14th, in celebration of the end of the Falklands War in 1982.
