The Bermuda Flag was first introduced in 1915. Bermuda is a British Colony that comprises of a group of small islands in the Atlantic Ocean.
Bermuda was the first of the British colonies to fly a defaced red ensign. The British Union Jack flag is in the top corner nearest the flagpole and in the centre of the red space there is a British Lion supporting a shield. This portrays the wreck of the 'Sea Venture', which in 1609 carried the first settlers and came to grief on the reef.
