The flag of Aruba consists of four colours; yellow, blue, red and white. The Aruban flag also has a red star with a white outline. This is set against the background which is a pale blue, with two parallel yellow stripes.
The two yellow stripes of the Aruba flag are said to denote the free position of Aruba with respect to Holland and other countries close to Aruba. The star has complex symbolism with links to the four languages spoken, the red earth, bloodshed and purity.
Aruba's flag and national anthem day falls on March 18th.
