The Argentinian flag with the badge in the centre was brought to use in 1812. The design is made up of three equally spaced horizontal bands with a sun emblem, known as the Sun of May, in the centre of the flag. The top part of the flag and the bottom are coloured a special blue known as ‘Celestial Blue’. Celestial blue is also the colour the Argentina football team wear when playing for their country.
The flag of Argentina comes in two variations - this one and one without the sun emblem in the centre. The official flag of Argentina is this one and is generally recognised as being the government’s official flag. However, it can also be used at sporting events, the Olympic Games, the World Cup, and various others as long as it is displayed with honor and respect.
The role of the flag bearer in a school is very prestigious and often the flag carriers are those students with the best grades.
