Things are changing at Harrison EDS. Not only are we now up and running on our new website but we’ve also been making additions to our staff levels.

After an internal transfer we were aware of a need to fill a vacancy in our fast moving despatch area. We spread the word through various channels that we were looking for a new team member.

In just a short space of time, we were snowed under with quality applicants. Our HR department had to work really hard to narrow this list down to the best candidates for the role and in the end, we were able to appoint a new employee that brings new and exciting skills to our team.

With less than 4 weeks to go until William and Kate tie the knot in what has been the most anticipated Royal Wedding in years there has been Royal Wedding fever sweeping the nation.

With the date set for Friday 29th April at Westminster Abby the Royal Wedding merchandise ranges from tea towels to mugs and t-shirts to chocolates! Here at Harrison we like to keep it simple and plan to fly the Union Jack Flag for their big day.

Whether you are a traditional Royalist or just interested in what Kate Middleton is wearing the newspapers and glossy magazines are just full of news and speculation for the nuptials, there is no escaping it so our advice is get your hands on a British Flag and join in the celebrations!

If you are having a party at home and watching it on the TV or even travelling to London, make sure you have your flag or bunting up and celebrate all things British. If you are not getting it off as bank holiday then we suggest your boss gets into the spirit and decorates the office with Union Flags to make the occassion, and some tea and cakes too!

We also do custom made flags so if you want to personalise the Union Flag or even create your own design then chat to our experts on 01325 390195 TODAY to ensure delivery!

If you are planning to attend a trade show you will possibly be filled with dread at the thought of how to make your brand stand out. In large exhibition halls covered wall to wall with booths there are so many other businesses competing for a customer’s attention. The noise, the colours, the people, the speakers, free giveaways – it is chaos!

Use our booth design checklist to help things go smoothly, trade shows big or small are fiercely competitive and you don’t want to be crawling about the floor with duck tape or squeezing your exciting displays into a booth that’s too small!

Harrison’s Booth Design Checklist

Plan in advance to ensure you allow for design, print and delivery lead times

TRIPLE check booth measurements and restrictions

Make your booth easy to read

Ensure the design is not too busy

Have a clear logo or brand identity

Have a dummy run at setting it up so there will be no issues on the day

Here at Harrison’s we have been working in the display and events industry for over 40 years so thought we would share a few tips to ensure you are not sitting in an empty booth and really make an impact at your exhibition.

How to you make sure that you do not get lost or overlooked at Trade Shows

Keep it short and simple – Plan your show around a one or two key unique selling points. Do not bombard customers with a list of all your offers and products, you will loses them! Zoom in on one aspect of your business that you do really well and build all your marketing material and booth designs around that.

Capture emails – use this as an opportunity to generate new leads and add to your email database. People have arms full of brochures and may come to you last so having a raffle where they can win a prize just for dropping in a business card or writing down their contact details works well. This gives you an excuse to contact them later and not overwhelm them at the first meeting.

Be Approachable – This is a networking opportunity so loose the sales hat and be friendly, approachable and engage with not only potential customers but the organisers and fellow exhibitors to really get the most out of the event.

We have a full range of Indoor Event Displays that includes pop up banners, light box dispalys and can even make bespoke booths. Our team are full of ideas! So best of luck with your trade show folks, if you have any tips to share then please do comment below.

The automotive trade has been hit hard during the recession but is now improving with 2010 seeing growth in not only the second hand car market but also car loans and new car registrations.

It is important that once you get customers to your car dealership or car showroom that all the stops are made to showcase the cars in the most attractive way possible.

Presenting cars with quality branding, livery, flags, banners and high impact marketing displays all make your car forecourt look more professional. This in turn can lead to sales and really help single out special offers, bargain cars or help launch a new make or model.

A vibrant car dealer flag creates an eye catching forecourt, below are some ideas of the latest product technology used by top car dealers throughout the UK.

TOP TIPS TO IMPROVE YOUR CAR FORECOURT

Car Dealer Flags – At Harrison’s we manufacture flags with your design so they are customised with your brand or logo. A customised flag will set you apart and make you stand out, the Harrison’s team are full of ideas to help come up with a new design if required.

Car Dealer Flagpoles - Use trade specific telescopic flagpoles have been created specifically for the car dealer. These are easily be adjusted and transported helping you move and change displays when required. We provide 60mm aluminium tube with a heavy duty swivel arm plus a 2 year warranty so you can trust you are making an investment. The galvanised steel base is weather resistant and can last a lifetime compared to plastic versions.

Personalised Bunting - This is a great way to dress the interior of the car dealership and highlight a special offer or sales event. If it has the logo or car brand and is customised it really can draw attention to a particular car.

Multiple Flags – to really create a wow factor having a range of flags really does make an impact and if your car showroom is fighting for competition in a saturated environment then the more you can do to stand out the better. Lots of colour and flags suggests sale, discount and professionalism.

Here at Harrison’s from our Darlington factory we offer a large range of flags in any shape and size and also have in house designers to help create the right products for your particular size of showroom or car dealership.
