Staples Corner is one of London’s (and the UK’s) major road Junctions. It is the point at which traffic from London joins the M1 motorway and so, there is plenty of passing trade for businesses in the area. One such business, Now Motor Retailing, were looking to attract more of this passing trade to their forecourt and so came to Harrison External Display Systems for advice on bespoke flagpoles to be seen above their building, and from the start of the M1 at the Staples Corner junction.
Our installation team attended site to complete a site survey and advise the client of the possible options and requirements for flagpole installation. After this visit we were able to provide a competitive quotation to Now Motor Retail with three recommendations on height. The client confirmed which of the three options to proceed with and placed their order.
These flagpoles and bespoke hand-sewn flags are now with Now Motor Retailing and are flying proudly on the forecourt at Staples Corner.

The St George's Flag at our Darlington Flagpole factory!
It has been commented how other countries are extremely patriotic and that England is not as passionate about our own patron saints day; even within the British Isles Ireland, Scotland and Wales celebrate with gusto their patron saints day and England have been somewhat in the shadows. With St Paddy’s Day a particular event, the pubs and streets are filled with Irish Flags!
Over recent years we have seen a marked increase on St George’s day being celebrated across the country by an uptake on traditionally Appliquéd (Sewn and Hand finished) and Digitally printed budget St.Georges flags, as people are recognising that being part of a multicultural Britain of today, every nationality can embrace their cultural heritage and celebrate without the stereotypical negative connotations the English flag has had in the past.
Here at Harrison’s Darlington head office, we will be flying our St.George flag with pride on Saturday 23rd April. We hope you all enjoy the Easter Bank Holiday weekend!

PVC Banners in Middlesbrough Town Centre
To help the North East town of Middlesbrough celebrate the 100 year anniversary of the Transporter Bridge and the new bid for City status, we helped design, manufacture and install PVC Banners.
The PVC banners were commissioned by the Town Centre Managers office. Made of durable PVC and double sided with a different image on each side allows multiple messages to be shown these were the perfect outdoor event branding solution. The Banners sizes are 3.2m x 0.75m and there are a total of 35 running through the heart of Middlesbrough Town Centre.
One side celebrates the Transporter Bridge centenary this year and the other side has the City at Heart – which supports the Towns bid for City status.
Good Luck to the local council with their bid for City status, fingers crossed!

Harrison's Tobe Towers used for marathon markers
As one of the most prestigious events in the sporting calendar the Virgin London Marathon always pulls massive global audiences and is anticipated to broadcast to 150 countries around the world, which is why corporate sponsorship is big business.
The route which passes through the capital, takes in some of the most iconic landmarks in the world and on the 17th April will be transformed by barrier fencing and 32km branded knitted poly-air fence scrim supplied by Harrison’s along with Tobe towers designed to mark key points along the route such as mile markers and hydration points.
When planning outdoor events on this scale there are many key attributes that an organiser will look to a supplier for to satisfy their sponsors spend, such as best product, best price but most crucially reliability.
When working on such a large quantity order, the lead times are always tight to ensure that we are cost effective making our project management skills of paramount importance. Our efforts behind the scene make sure that clients get high impact, cost effective event products in budget and on time with the Harrison product guarantee.

Tube banners, seen for miles at outdoor events!
Are you attention seeking at your next event?
Yes. Then Tube banners are a sure-fire way of getting attention from miles around.
The high impact display offering 360 degree visibility is an ideal way to add some fun and colour to any event, to convey information or as directional signage at concerts and festivals.
A Tube Banner power to communicate with huge crowds was proven when the tubes were used to highlight dedicated information points at the world’s largest green field open air music event Glastonbury.
The high-rise tubes are installed high on lampposts or on flagpoles and have also been used by international brand names McDonalds and Coca Cola as an innovative way to promote products to potential customers near and far. They have also been used effectively by councils, as an attractive way of displaying advertising for events. And as the fabric signage can be replaced quickly and easily, tube banners can be used to generate revenue, through sponsorship of displays.
Chat to our team and we can not only manufacture, but we can help you with the design too!
